With more and more states legalizing online betting, the number of Americans wagering on sporting events is increasing year after year.

But did you know that you can actually bet on so much more than just the game itself when you bet on an event like the Super Bowl?

With the legalization and sudden normalization of betting, the number of different things you can now legally bet on is staggering.

While most people would typically bet on a team to win a game or which player will score the first touchdown, many Americans are now using online gambling sites to wager on some quite absurd, albeit fun, things.

In fact, some of the most popular Super Bowl bets are settled before the players even touch the ball.

These “prop bets” include whether the coin toss will land on heads or tails, the color of the Gatorade bath, how many songs will be performed during the halftime show, which brand will air the first commercial, whether or not the announcers will mention the point spread, and, of course, the infamous length of the national anthem.

The duration of the national anthem is one of the most popular Super Bowl prop bets, so the next time you’re at a Super Bowl party and see someone take out a stopwatch as the national anthem is being played, you’ll know why.

If you’re one of the millions of Americans planning to bet on the Super Bowl and want to try your hand at betting on the length of the national anthem, take a look at the chart below to become familiar with the trends associated with betting on the Over/Under for the performance of the national anthem.
