TMZ reports that Ciara has dropped her defamation lawsuit against her former fiancé Future. The case has been dismissed “with prejudice,” which means she can’t refile.

Ciara originally filed the suit last February after Future conducted a radio interview that alleged Ciara was using her now-husband Russell Wilson for publicity. He then railed off a bunch of tweets where he said, “This bitch got control problems … I gotta go through lawyers to see baby future … the fuckery for 15k a month.” In a petty but legally astute response, Future’s team claimed she didn’t have a case because her career had gone cold, so he couldn’t have done defamatory damage.

While Ciara has been busy being a newlywed, fans are speculating Future has some new project in the works. He dropped a few of new songs at the end of last year, and mysteriously deleted his Instagram posts. Mysterious Internet activity has become a roundabout way of announcing a new project in recent months.
