angelic milk Gnaw Through Expectation on Age-Defying New Single ‘Tie Me Up’

angelic milk's EP 'Teenage Movie Soundtrack' will be out July 15 via PNKSLM Recordings

angelic milk, the former solo project of angst-filled, bedroom-ridden Russian teen Sarah Persephona and current indie four-piece (Facebook-memorialized as “too lo-fi to live, too gothpop to die”), are back with a salty sweet taste of upcoming EP Teenage Movie Soundtrack. Persephona, the group’s leader, has experienced her fair share of formative-years doubters, but the group’s latest single “Tie Me Up” eats her haters for breakfast.

“Tie Me Up” rings with playful confidence and deceptive innocence. “My baby is coming here to play,” Persephona taunts.  Rather than running from the limitations of her youth, Persephona runs through them, and into the territory of cited influences like No Doubt and Hole, with wise-beyond-her-years writing. Her vocals remain buoyant through each breathy verse and wailing chorus, with too much ease to be inauthentic — the only faint reminder that she still has a couple years before being able to enjoy a legal beer in the States.

Listen to “Tie Me Up” below and watch out for angelic milk’s new EP Teenage Movie Soundtrack, due out July 15th through PNKSLM Recordings. You can preorder it here.
