Ariel Pink Explores Suburban Doldrums in ‘Dayzed Inn Daydreams’ Video

The singer enlisted an aging punk-rock star to bolster his themes

Ariel Pink has shared a music video for “Dayzed Inn Daydreams,” a cut from his fantastic 2014 LP, pom pom. The clip features direction from Grant Singer, who describes the short thusly: “It’s the story of a man who was once the frontman of a band that existed decades ago. Through a series of scenes depicting his everyday life, we tell his story.”

Rick Wilder, frontman of the cult-punk band the Mau Mau’s, stars in the video, which means he indulges in some early-morning beer guzzling, grocery store stocking, and cigarette smoking. His so-called “everyday life” also features a glam-rock makeover, some pretty smooth dance moves, and a cameo by Ariel Pink. Watch it above.
