Connect Sessions — The Work

After a month in the hothouse, last week’s live event at the Brooklyn club Verboten, finally saw the premieres of the Connect Sessions powered by Microsoft collaborations between three pairs of musicians and visual artists. And now you can experience them for yourself. “WAMS” by the photographer Ron Amstutz with original music by Ian Williams (of Battles) is a wonderful piece of cut-up video abstraction full of playful dynamics and colors, married to a glitch-techno sound bed. The video artist CandyStations marries Com Truise‘s midtempo electronic soundscapes to a video evoking the psychedelic qualities of celestial geometry. While How to Dress Well and the creative studio TRUSST tweaked the visuals of the soulful pop band’s live show to include newly created, organic graphics controlled by Microsoft motion-sensitive Kinect technology.
