Producer RAC, in a 2014 interview out of SPIN’s archives, says working on original music and remixing preexisting tracks are actually quite similar.
“With original music, I’m working with different vocalists,” RAC said during Dr. Pepper’s “One of a Kind” studio experience. “So I’m kind of rewriting music under their vocals as well so it uses a lot of the same tricks and it’s kind of similar in a way. The main difference is really how it’s perceived.”
During the experience, RAC got to hit the studio with Wu-Tang great RZA and Hood Internet to put his producing skills to the test.
