Aside from remixing that well-hyphenated Caetano Veloso cover by Superhuman Happiness and Cults (“Ile Aiye”), the dancefloor destroyers in the Juan MacLean have been relatively quiet of late. The LCD Soundsystem affiliates last released a proper album in 2009 (The Future Will Come), though the surprising 2011 B-sides set Everybody Get Close was stronger than any proper TJM full-length to date. And now we’ve got a fresh single to consider which once again makes the case for the DFA Records crew’s mastery of hip, house-y notions. Former LCD member Nancy Whang adds her vocals to “You Are My Destiny,” adding a double-dose of playfulness and poignance as she sings about having lost and found her true love.
