Willie Nelson Nabbed for Weed

Willie Nelson and four of his traveling companions proved getting busted for drugs isn’t just the pastime of young people when they were issued misdemeanor citations for possession of narcotic mushrooms and marijuana. The country singer and the four other individuals charged — all 50+ years of age — were pulled over at a traffic stop Monday (Sept. 18) morning on a Louisiana highway and cited after an inspection of the tour bus produced 1 1/2 pounds of marijuana and 0.2 pounds of narcotic mushrooms, according to the AP. “When the door was opened and the trooper began to speak to the driver, he smelled the strong odor of marijuana,” police said in a news release. Nelson and his buddies were each released after receiving their citation.
