Coachella Documentary Hits Select Theaters

Even if you haven’t braved the scorching spring temperatures in Indio, California, you can still enjoy highlights of the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival. A documentary chronicling the festival since its 1999 inception is hitting theaters all over the country on January 24. Coachella features performances from the Red Hot Chili Peppers, the Arcade Fire, Oasis, Morrissey, the Flaming Lips, and several other showstoppers from the past six years. The documentary was directed by Drew Thomas, who previously worked as a cinematographer on A Supernatural Evening with Carlos Santana. Coachella will debut in Los Angeles, with showings at the Orpheum Theater on January 19 and 20. The 2006 Coachella Festival will take place on April 29 and 30. So far, Depeche Mode is the only confirmed act for this year’s show, but the complete schedule will be announced in upcoming weeks. Tickets go on-sale Feb. 4 at noon PST.
