Forgive Bernard Sumner's Leaden Dance Moves on 'Kimmel,' Please
Twenty-seven years later and New Order are still caught in that "Bizarre Love Triangle." The dance-pop pioneers, currently in the midst of a quick North American jaunt that includes two performances at this year's Coachella, dropped by Jimmy Kimmel Live! last night (April 16) to revive the aforementioned 1986 classic single and show off "I'll Stay With You," the vintage-sounding first track off New Order's recently released Lost Sirens collection. Frontman Bernard Sumner's voice still glides brilliantly, as if being delivered by an omniscient narrator, but the 57-year-old singer's stage moves — the shimmy, the twirl — are (understandably) a little limp. Sumner pulls off the distinguished statesmen look when he's strapped to a guitar, though, reminding us why we've stayed with New Order after all this time.

Pulp's Jarvis Cocker, Man of Common People, Inks British Folk History Book
Jarvis Cocker, Britpop's sharpest penman, was hired by British publisher Faber and Faber as an editor-at-large back in 2011. Now the Pulp frontman has signed his first book deal, locking down a history of British folk clubs written by author JP Bean.As the Quietus reports, the book, titled Singing From the Floor, was recommended to Cocker by singer-songwriter (and Pulp associate) Richard Hawley. "When my friend Richard Hawley said he'd met 'a man in a pub who had a book for me,' I have to admit I was slightly dubious," Cocker said in a statement. "But he was right. Singing From the Floor portrays an important movement in vernacular culture in the voices of the people who made it happen — and that's not an easy task. Especially when the events in question took place many years ago and may have involved the consumption of alcohol.

Watch the Trailer for the Stone Roses Documentary, Because That's All You're Gonna Get
The Stone Roses have never inspired the same level of devotion and enthusiasm in the U.S. as they do in the U.K. — the embarrassingly thin crowd at the Manchester band's Coachella gig this past weekend should be proof enough — which probably explains why the upcoming documentary The Stone Roses: Made of Stone doesn't have a stateside release date. Directed by British filmmaker Shane Meadows, Made of Stone follows the Mancs' entire career, from their 1983 founding to the 1989 release of their landmark debut album, from the group's mid-'90s implosion to their long-awaited 2012 reunion. The feature promises "never-before-seen" footage of the Manchester unit, but fans can get a preview of the film via the just-released trailer. "It takes time for people to fall in love with you," frontman Ian Brown says near the clip's end.

See Foxygen Gently Disrupt the Streets of Paris With Three Live Performances
Foxygen recently nixed their entire European tour schedule citing "creative health" reasons, but the Los Angeles psych-pop duo found time to record an installment of La Blogothèque's Take Away Show series. Trolling the rain-kissed streets of Paris, the '60s-infatuated two-piece (along with several live players) performed three tracks off their recently released sophomore album, We Are the 21st Century Ambassadors of Peace & Magic. Frontman Sam France does his best rock star impression — smoking cigarettes, mugging for the camera, playing with his hair, yelping till his voice goes hoarse, and urging passersby to sing along — while leading Jonathan Rado and the rest of the crew through "On Blue Mountain," "In the Darkness," and "No Destruction."

See Odonis Odonis String Up a Cult Sacrifice in 'Better' Video
Last week, SPIN premiered Better, the brand new EP (out April 16) from Toronto noise-punks Odonis Odonis. Now we present the creepy, fisheye-lensed video to that collection's title track. The black-and-white clip takes place in the woods during a cult ritual. Unfortunately for the viewer, the POV belongs to the person chosen as a sacrifice. The captive audience member hangs upside down, gets dragged across the ground, and helplessly looks up at the masked, robed kidnappers as they point their fingers and ready the knife. Enjoy!
