See the So So Glos Blow Out Their Network Television Debut on 'Letterman'
When SPIN recently spoke to the So So Glos about their latest LP, the appropriately titled Blowout, drummer Zach Staggers said of the 12-track effort, "Everything is blown out, bricked out, we just wanted it to be aggressive. We just put our faces in people's faces to get our ideas out. And it's a party."The Williamsburg-based punks brought that ethos to the Late Show with David Letterman last night (April 26), making their network television debut for a performance of the new album's opener "Son of an American." A few seconds into the sneering, scruffy, down-but-not-out anthem, singer-bassist Alex Levine lets an awkward smile slip out across his face, likely a mix of nervousness and excitement; and Levine has every right to experience a quick "Is this really happening?" moment — the So So Glos just got their ideas out in front of a lot more people's faces.

Watch Soundgarden Unplug for Heartfelt 'Fell on Black Days'
Soundgarden's Chris Cornell and Ben Shepherd recently played an intimate, stripped-down set for an Arizona radio station, and now the frontman and bassist have done the same for Los Angeles' KROQ. The two Seattle titans performed heartfelt, unplugged renditions of Superunknown standard "Fell on Black Days" and wistful King Animal cut "Halfway There." Most of the acoustic set recasts the grunge gods as a world-weary folk duo, but then Cornell belts out a breathtaking closer, totally giving away his arena experience.

Vampire Weekend, Kanye West Confirmed for 'SNL'
Vampire Weekend announced on Twitter today (April 26) that are scheduled to appear as musical guests on Saturday Night Live's May 11 broadcast. The following week, Kanye West will take the stage at Studio 8H to perform during the late-night sketch show's season finale; Ben Affleck will handle hosting duties for that broadcast.Vampire Weekend's trip to the late-night show should be a treat who can't make it to the band's April 28 concert, live-streaming from New York's Roseland Ballroom and directed by actor Steve Buscemi. The VW boys have teased the show with a series of video shorts, also starring the Boardwalk Empire actor. We've seen them go bowling and hand out flyers, and attend NYC's Easter Parade.

Why Andrew Stockdale Had to Leave Wolfmother Behind
Fans shouldn't have been surprised when Wolfmother main brain Andrew Stockdale announced earlier this year that he was dropping the band's moniker: As the Australian guitar hero explained in a recent e-mail exchange with SPIN, he's "had session players on and off since 2009." So, instead of billing his upcoming release, the long-awaited Keep Moving LP (out June 11 in the U.S. through Universal Music), as the third Wolfmother full-length, Stockdale is releasing the upcoming collection under his own name."It was time to come clean, time to step to the side of the Wolfmother name and be me," Stockdale wrote. "I've felt soulless playing after a while and kind of hollow.

Arcade Fire's Will Butler Needs Cash for Robert Frost-Inspired Film Score
The Arcade Fire are hard at work at LP No. 4, but multi-instrumentalist Will Butler is busy with a separate effort of his own: a film score. HitFix points out that the Canadian musician is planning to contribute original compositions to Home Burial, a short film written by Los Angeles-based actor/director Jeff Newburg that's based on the Robert Frost poem of the same name. When speaking to HitFix, Newburg described the music as being "keyboard-heavy" and synth-reliant. The project is currently looking for crowdsourced funding via Indiegogo, where Butler writes, "The music for the short film will hopefully evoke Robert Frost — formal but conversational; embedded in the early 20th century but still relevant. Darker than you might expect.

Watch PSY's Stadium-Shaking 'Gentleman' Live Debut
PSY performed his chart-climbing "Gangnam Style" follow-up "Gentleman" live for the first time on April 13 during his arena-sized Happening concert live-stream. Now, fans who either a) missed the webcast, b) couldn't make it to South Korea to see the show firsthand, or c) are just tired of watching the track's crotch-thrusting, prank-playing music video can witness the spastic K-Pop hit's live debut. As expected, the EDM-lite rapper puts on a massive stage show — with smoke, lasers, fireworks, and impeccably dressed backup dancers — but the above clip is really worth watching just to see the entire audience throb as "Gentleman" begins blaring through the stadium.

Watch Colin Stetson's Eerie 'Among the Sef' Video
SPIN noted recently that Bon Iver bandmember and solo saxophonist Colin Stetson tends to repeat the following story while performing live: "There's this whale that lives in the Atlantic," he says. "Its song is off by a few hertz, which renders it unintelligible by all other whales, but it sings this song, continually for over a decade now, and no one will answer."The Montreal-based sax man channels that melancholy marine imagery for the new video to "Among the Sef," the latest single off his upcoming album, New History Warfare Vol. 3: To See More Light (out April 30 via Constellation Records). Filmed by Isaac Gale and David Jensen, the black-and-white clip scans a vast body of water, catching glimpses of a few whales as they break for the surface and then dive back underwater.

Watch Justin Timberlake Make 'Ellen' Housewives Collectively Go Insane
Justin Timberlake brought two mid-tempo jamz off The 20/20 Experience to daytime television today (April 25), performing epic second single "Mirrors" and horn-puffed opening track "Pusher Love Girl" on Ellen. The TIME 100 honoree greeted the studio audience from inside a giant-sized box (cue obligatory "Dick in a Box" reference), sat down with Ellen DeGeneres to gab about marriage, and then led the Tennessee Kids through the two songs. Watch JT organize a clap-along session via "Mirrors" up top, head down to witness his falsetto flow on "Pusher Love Girl," and scroll further to see the crowd completely lose their shit.

David Bowie drafted actress Tilda Swinton for the music video to "The Stars (Are Out Tonight)," the second single off his recently released comeback album, and now the Thin White Duke has tapped another of Hollywood's finest for his next visual short: according to the Daily Mail, Gary Oldman will appear in the video for "The Next Day," the next single (and title track) off Bowie's latest LP.Bowie and Oldman were reportedly spotted on the set of the shoot in New York earlier this week and, according to sources, the Low mastermind was wearing "long religious robes" that made him look like Obi-Wan Kenobi from Star Wars. Onlookers also noted that the pair of Brits were standing near extras who were dressed as a monk, a bride, and the Pope.
