One of the greatest scenes in American Psycho finds Christian Bale, as Patrick Bateman, systematically explaining the excellence of a Huey Lewis and the News album to a man whose head he is about to split open with an ax. That album happens to be 1983's Sports, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, so the knee-slappers over at Funny or Die have put together a charming little tribute to the LP.
Hot on the heels of the BBC's Amish alternative take on the Sex Pistols' infamous Today show interview, the comedy hub has recreated the aforementioned Psycho scene shot-for-shot with a vital twist. Instead of the unwitting businessman Bateman kills (Jared Leto) in the movie, we're gifted with SPIN friend "Weird Al" Yankovich. And instead of Bale, we get the actual Huey Lewis who sets out to explain the importance of American Psycho before ... well, we won't spoil it, but let's just say the clip offers the Newsman a chance to get back at Yankovic for "I Want a New Duck," a particularly absurd parody of Sports single "I Want a New Drug." For comparison, you'll find the original scene below. Beware: There will be blood.
