Watch White Rabbits' Taut, Wiry 'Kimmel' Performance

White Rabbits
Marc Hogan

As a six-piece, White Rabbits have always boasted a less-than-typical live setup for rock'n'roll. Last night on Jimmy Kimmel Live, the Brooklyn group hauled out its two drum sets and three guitars (plus bass!) to perform a couple of songs from recently released third album Milk Famous, their first since 2009's It's Frightening. Like advance track "Heavy Metal," the band's takes on the new record's "Danny Come Inside" and "Are You Free" are rhythmically tight, atmosphere-laden indie rock in the mold of Spoon, whose Mike McCarthy took over production duties this time from It's Frightening overseer (and fellow Spoon man) Britt Daniel. No, Kimmel isn't holding the LP upside down.
