Arkansas-raised rapper SL Jones brings a lot to the table, so it shouldn't come as any surprise that he first caught shine alongside Killer Mike in the Grind Time gang.

But while his jewels-running pal usually takes an overtly political approach (via R.A.P. Music), this MC's tack is subtle on new song "America's Nightmare," and closer to the Freddie Gibbs method of embedded reporting. Jonesy sings as well, and on the hook of the premiere below, he robotically coos, "I'm everything you love to hate, I represent all your mistakes / You can't get rid of me, America's nightmare."

With a lumbering beat by Metro Boomin (Future, Ludacris, Gucci Mane) and a deep-voiced verse from Louisiana storyteller Kevin Gates, SL has more than enough ammo to support his backward brags — and to build excitement for his Don Cannon-hosted, Metro Boomin-produced mixtape Way of Life No Hobby, due out September 4. Pac Div member Mibbs will make a guest appearance.
