Shlohmo and Jeremih handily made SPIN’s 50 Albums You Gotta Hear in 2014 for their right-on-time mix of art-addled trap sonics and disembodied-yet-oversexed R&B. They first came together in retrospect, with the Los Angeles producer remixing the Chicago singer’s “Fuck U All the Time” to gooped perfection, and then met in the studio to whip up a song in a day: “Bo Peep (Do U Right),” a succulent slow jam that necessitated further exploration. Now we’ve got the first taste of their forthcoming EP, No More, arriving via Def Jam and Wedidit in March. The titular song from that set is as shadow-steeped and sensual as you’d hope, with Shlohmo rolling back some of the haze to allow Jeremih’s vocals their own shine. “I don’t wanna wait,” he coos, and neither do we. The pair are also planning an album, dubbed Thumpy Johnson, for later in the year. Check out Shlohmo’s recent collaborations with BANKS and How to Dress Well.
