Move over, "Giorgio by Moroder," and make way for Zooey by Deschanel. The She & Him singer-songwriter and star of TV's The New Girl self-directed the video for "I Could've Been Your Girl," from her M. Ward-bolstered band's new album Volume 3. The music is a swaying, polished update on '60s girl-group sounds by way of '00s indie pop — if you like this, also check out Lucky Soul, the Pipettes, or Belle and Sebastian leader Stuart Murdoch's God Help the Girl project — and the fairly charming video lets this former theater major showcase her love of classic Broadway dance routines. It's musical time travel, Hello Giggles-style, and if you've read this far that probably means it's your style, too.
