Kanye West Titles June Album ‘Yeezus,’ Reaches Apex of Megalomania

Can Kanye West (‘s ego) get much higher? Not much! Rap-Up is reporting the rapper/producer/pouty Kim Kardashian escort’s June 18 album is titled Yeezus.

Last week, based on all the information available about ‘Ye’s record, we placed him at a Holy Trinity-appropriate No. 3 on our list of musicians who have compared themselves to God.

What else do we know about the album, West’s sixth and the follow-up to 2010’s critically adored My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy? The album is dark, Daft Punk appears on it, and everybody says it’s going to be awesome. For more info on the record, check out our rundown of rumors and leaks here.

Last night, West debuted a fresh track called “New Slaves” by projecting his image on buildings in 66 locations. We’re expecting to hear more new material from West in six hours, when he appears on Saturday Night Live, the site of some of his most audacious performances and painful skewering. Earlier this week, he performed a full show at the Adult Swim upfronts from the confines of a massive onstage pyramid. That set included a new ode to his girlfriend Kim that features the word “awesome” at least two dozen times.
