Manson Family Values: Charles Writes Marilyn Inscrutable Note

Charles Manson writes letter to Marilyn Manson

Isn’t it something when Beautiful People come together? Wait, wait, no… two Antichrist Superstars walk into a bar. It seems that after 23 years of silence on the matter, life-imprisoned convict, crackpot philosopher, and avant-garde penmanship champ Charles Manson has weighed in on Marilyn Manson’s infamous adoption of his surname — sort of.

“It’s taken me a long time to get there from where I could touch M. Manson,” Charlie begins in an August postcard to Marilyn, via Loudwire, that appears on comprehensive C. Manson portal MansonDirect. “Now I got a card to play — you may look into my non-profit, ATWA, and give Manson what you think he’s got coming for Air, Trees, Water, and you. Or I will pay Manson what you think Manson got coming.”

Obviously there’s a bit of confusion regarding grammatical personage where Mansons are concerned, but finding oneself within the reach of Charlie’s “touch” cannot be a good thing. ATWA (Air Trees Water Animals) is indeed an ecologically inclined non-profit founded by Charlie. Although it’s not clear whether he’s fishing for a donation, or ordering a hit.

Perhaps a three-way seance with Marilyn Monroe would clear matters up? The Mansons have crossed paths before — Marilyn covered Charles’ “Sick City” and borrowed lyrics from “Mechanical Man” for his own “My Monkey” — and Charles is quite the letter-writer, having reportedly slipped Phil Spector a note when the producer arrived at the same Central California prison.

Anyway, here’s the entire letter, in which he refers to Marilyn (or himself?) as an “Abraxas Devil,” which would be a devil that is actually stronger than the Devil. In a rare moment of total clarity, he also pens something totally badass: “Ghost dancers slay together and you’re just in my grave.” Strong words coming from a lunatic. Take it away, Charlie:

“To Marilyn Manson –

It’s taken me a long time to get there from where I could touch M. Manson.  Now I got a card to play – you may look into my non-profit, ATWA, and give Manson what you think he’s got coming for Air, Trees, Water, and you. Or I will pay Manson what you think Manson got coming – the music has make Manson into Abraxas Devil, and I’m SURE you would want some of what I got from what I got.  It’s a far out balance.  Beyond good and bad, right, wrong.  What you don’t do is what I will do – what you did a sing-along, and let it roll and said how you saved me a lot of steps – I don’t need, it’s not a need or a want.  Couped – coup.  Ghost dancers slay together and you’re just in my grave Sunstroker Corona-coronas-coronae – you seen me from under with it all standing on me.  That’s 2 dump trucks – doing the same as CMF 000007

Charles Manson”
