We got a taste — a sweet and fizzy taste — of Beyoncé's "Grown Woman" earlier this month in a Pepsi ad that managed to squeeze 15 years of histor-Bey into 60 seconds. The Timbaland-produced track seemed promising indeed — a lithe mix of shuffling handclaps, laser-bleep synths, and tropical tones that would probably be excellent to see live. Oh wait, it is.
Idolator points to fan-shot footage of the former Destiny's Child singer performing the new track at the April 24 Paris stop on her current Mrs. Carter Show World Tour. Worth noting is the fact that, as the Guardian first reported, Bey has banned cameras from her shows, presumably after BuzzFeed refused to take down unflattering photos of the star at her Super Bowl performance. That is, of course, part of the reason that we're stuck with video that makes it look and seem as if the entire affair is happening underwater. Still, it's something! As are those springy jumpers that Bey and her girls are sporting. Keep an eye out for the incredibly talented Les Twins, a couple of French fellas whose footwork out-classes everyone on that stage.
