This past Saturday, July 19, throngs of music-hungry fans converged on San Francisco's Shoreline Ampitheatre for Download 2008 to have their craving satiated by sets from Yeasayer, Cut Copy, Mute Math, Gang of Four, and the Jesus and Mary Chain, among others. SPIN.com's Peter Gaston had the chance to catch up with Mute Math and talk about the creative process, as well as the difference between festival sets and conventional concert settings.
