Havoc, Prodigy‘s partner in Mobb Deep, has commented about the death of his longtime musical partner in a video testimonial. In the TMZ-posted clip, Havoc explained that he knew about Prodigy’s hospitalization, but was not concerned about it since hospital visits were commonplace for the rapper, who has suffered from sickle-cell anemia “for over 20 years.” Normally, Havoc said, Prodigy would spend “three days, maybe five tops” inside dealing with a minor sickle-cell-related “crisis.”

“I knew that he was in the hospital, but I know that he’s not dead – he goes to the hospital all the time,” Havoc said. “Rumors get around, dumb shit. I was laughing to be honest with you, because I had not directly spoken to P, but I knew his status every day since I left Vegas.”

Havoc said that he then called Prodigy’s road manager while driving with his 5-year-old son. “The road manager was just crying like I never heard before…I’m still just fucked up,” he said. “Like, I can’t even listen to ‘Shook Ones’ or any song. I can hardly can look at the pictures…I met him when I was 15, and I’m 43 right now.”

“I still can’t believe it…I just can’t,” he added.
