New Music: Franz Ferdinand – “Demagogue”

Franz Ferdinand have released “Demagogue,” the latest installment of the anti-Trump compilation 30 Days, 30 Songs. 30 Days, 30 Songs is a project organized by Dave Eggers that features a new anti-Trump song from contemporary artists every day leading up to the election, such as “Million Dollar Loan,” released by Death Cab for Cutie earlier this week.

“His pussy-grabbing fingers won’t let go of me now,” Alex Kapranos sings, his lyrics as spooky as the rhythm is buoyant. Kapranos also points to the terrifying thought of “those tiny vulgar fingers on the nuclear bomb” and Trump’s so-called great temperament, as “he’d like to punch in your face.” Inspiring!
