iLoveMakonnen’s teamed up with the burbly, swampy producer Sonny Digital once again for a new one called “Leave It There,” a song that stays at about a 6 energy-wise until two minutes in, when the Atlanta warbler jumps octaves and finally seems to feel something. Lyrically, it does the same line-toeing, “will he or won’t he” club-corner lurking that Makonnen’s mastered: “I think you’ve been trippin’ bae… / We could start again / One more time.”
