In a surefire way to drive Montreal tourism through the roof, members of Arcade Fire, Bon Iver, and the Strokes will unite for a one-afternoon-only halftime performance as the Pop All Star Band during Win and Will Butler’s annual Canadian Pop Vs. Jock charity basketball game tomorrow.
One time only! POP All Star Band feat. Win & Will/Arcade Fire, Justin/Bon Iver and Nikolai/The Strokes! Sat 2:30PM, McGill Sports Complex
— Arcade Fire (@arcadefire) September 19, 2014
Tickets to the event, held at the McGill University Sports Centre, are only $20 and are improbably — considering that ridiculous lineup — still available right this moment.
We can’t even begin to fantasize about what songs the band will play. While they could go the artistically integral route by exclusively performing cover songs by non-Strokes, Bon Iver, and Arcade Fire bands, imagine if you could hypothetically bear witness to Win Butler singing Justin Vernon’s chorus on “Holocene.” Maybe Nikolai Fraiture will go to town on the drums during Arcade Fire’s “Normal Person.” The possibilities are as incredible as they are endless. A note to anyone in attendance: record the entire halftime show this for all of us. It’s your civic duty.
