Ellen Grills Drake on Dating Before ‘Hold On, We’re Going Home’ Performance
'Nothing Was the Same' rapper-singer drops by 'The Ellen Degeneres Show'
Drake’s Nothing Was the Same arrived early this week, and though it may be a slightly underwhelming serving of “wavy, purple nurple, dro-motion, merriweather post-breakup syrup Slurpee music,” there’s nothing quite like watching Aubrey Graham ooze natural charm all over a television camera. The Young Money lothario stopped by The Ellen DeGeneres Show Friday (September 20) and wound up performing a lovely rendition of “Hold On, We’re Going Home” accompanied by OVO Sound signee Majid Jordan. “Oh, I love our next guest,” Ellen gushed. “He’s one of the biggest hip-hop stars in the world.”
But before that rappa turnt into a sanga before our very eyes, DeGeneres pinned him to her speakin’ couch with a little game called “Who Has Drake Dated?” The rules: She shares a photo of a female celeb who may or may not have ties to October’s very own, and the man is supposed to respond with the highest level of involvement attained therewith. But of course, Drake plays it equal parts awkward and cool as the host posts shots of Rihanna, Kim Kardashian, and others. A highlight emerges when DeGeneres puts Tyra Banks on the screen: “I went on a date with her one time … we went to Disneyland in disguise.”
