Maroon 5 Played a Pair of 5-Month-Old Songs on ‘SNL’
Adam Levine and Co. had nothing to promote but themselves
Artists — even legendary artists like Paul Simon and Elton John — are booked on Saturday Night Live because they’re promoting new music, but apparently NBC is cool with bringing in Maroon 5 to play two songs that are five months old: their own irritating “Moves Like Jagger” (the song even Fox News hates) and Gym Class Heroes’ “Stereo Hearts,” featuring Travie McCoy. That’s correct — two songs that came out in June, one of which is not even a Maroon 5 song (though it features frontman Adam Levine). Why? The short answer: Levine is a judge on NBC’s smash reality-singing competition The Voice… which also doesn’t return to the airwaves until February.
All you need to know about the rest of this past weekend’s SNL: Host Charlie Day spoke at a loud volume and Kenan Thompson played everyone’s favorite funky Muppet (“My name is Cee Lo, and I’m a big, ol’ sexy, hairless Ewok”).
