Speaking from the studio, guitarist Ed O'Brien claims band is wrapping efforts on new album.
The road to Radiohead’s new album, their seventh to date and follow up to 2003’s Hail to the Thief, has been long and riddled with rumors, holidays, and perplexing video reports. But the latest news, dispatched in the form of a blog post from the band’s deadairspace, offers some very, very exciting news. Speaking from the studio, towering axeman Ed O’Brien states the band is completing recording efforts on the new material. “Yes, I know it’s been a while…” O’Brien states, referring to the tardy arrival of the latest blog update, “but we’ve been working on this album for a while,” and — wait for it, wait for it — “We are nearly there… ” While this news sparks hopes and dreams of an imminent release, remember that Thom Yorke and crew still have at least one hurdle to leap — finding a record label.
