Foo Fighters Unveil Initial U.S. Tour Dates

Steadfast alt-rockers Foo Fighters — cover subjects of Spin‘s November issue, on newsstands now – have unveiled the initial dates in the band’s full North American tour behind Echoes, Silence, Patience and Grace,the outfit’s sixth album to date, which hit store shelves Sept. 25.Kicking off with a gig in Dallas Jan. 23, the band — the core foursomeplus Pat Smear on guitar, Rami Jaffee on keyboards, and JessieGreene on strings — will then hit cities like Memphis, Philadelphia,and Detroit. Additional dates will soon be announced.

Exercisingtheir eco-friendly muscle on tour, Foo Fighters have come to the aid ofTreeBank, an online donation system dedicated to urban forest treeplanting, by placing a limited quantity of premium tickets up forauction via Ticketmaster.com. The auction’s proceeds will then go to local “branches,” planting trees in every community along the Foo Fighters’ tour.
