New Video from Clinic

Droney art punks Clinic are preparing to release their fourth full-length, Visitations (out Jan. 23), by dropping the video for that album’s sinister post-punk chugger, “If You Could Read Your Mind.” The mostly black-and-white clip was reportedly inspired by Renee Magritte, the Belgian artist best known for his The Son of a Man painting, wherein a green apple floats in front of a derby-hat topped man’s visage. An homage to that image, the video features several subjects holding giant pieces of fruit, washed in vibrant colors, in front of their faces, and the clip plays out like a surreal, nightmarish fantasia where ordinary objects are imbued with new, unfamiliar associations.
