Beirut, best known for their use of big-band instruments and old-world sound, have been forced to cancel the remaining shows of their tour, as lead singer Zach Condon has suffered from a bout of exhaustion. “This was an extremely difficult decision to make,” the band wrote on their official website. “[It] was only decided on after doing everything we possibly could to make it work out.” Condon was hospitalized last Saturday (Nov. 11) in France for his condition, and the band’s gigs in Providence (Nov. 16), Oswego (Nov. 17), Bennington (Nov. 18), Boston (Nov. 19), and New York City (Nov. 21-22) have all been cancelled.
