In 2011, Zola Jesus wowed us with her third album Conatus, a pop-goth set propelled by her stunning vocals. Rather than follow that up with a proper LP, the artist born Nika Rosa Danilova took her mostly electronic songs and reworked them for last year’s string-laden Versions, which featured only one new song, the stunning “Fall Back.” Now, Zola has announced the release of her next full-length, Taiga, due in October. The news comes in the form of a 50-second teaser video directed by Kyle Hurley. The visuals feature scenes of fire and nature superimposed over her silhouette, while an atmospheric, so-far-wordless song snippet plays. As of now, that’s the extent of our knowledge on the new record, but stay tuned for more.
