Red Hot Chili Peppers are up to … something. The band posted a cryptic video across their socials this morning. Flea wrote: “Been nurturing the feral animal for quite a while, it’s about time to set her free.”

If new music is on the way, it would be the Red Hot Chili Peppers’ first new material with guitarist John Frusciante since their 2006 album Stadium Arcadium.

The Chili Peppers are currently on a massive global tour, which they teased late last year. The band reunited with on-again, off-again guitarist John Frusciante in late 2019 in a surprise move. Frusciante left the group in 2009 and was replaced by Josh Klinghoffer. With Klinghoffer, the band recorded two albums, I’m With You in 2011 and 2016’s The Getaway.
