Stream Animal Collective’s New Album Tangerine Reef

Animal Collective’s Tangerine Reef arrives promptly at a time when man’s footprint on the environment has become too large to bear. Made in collaboration with Coral Morphologic–marine biologist Colin Foord and musician J.D. McKay–the audiovisual album is meant to commemorate the 2018 International Year of the Reef celebrating all the enigmatic beauty that lies underwater in a self-described “visual tone poem.”

The pairing first teased the project with a trailer showing a time-lapse of brightly lit coral under a AnCo’s atmospheric synths and Apple Music exclusive “Hair Cutter.” They released a second full-length trailer with similar surrealist aquascape visuals playing alongside the band’s music.
