Report: U2 Are Planning a Stadium Tour to Celebrate The Joshua Tree‘s 30th Anniversary

U2’s opus The Joshua Tree turns 30 years old next year, and U2 are celebrating by going on a stadium tour, according to Billboard. Sources confirmed to the publication that they’ll be hitting U.S. and Europe venues starting late spring. The dates are expected to include a headlining gig at Bonnaroo (June 8-11) and two others at New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium.

In a Christmas video message to their fans the band said that they will “honor 30 years of Joshua Tree” and that they “have some very, very special shows coming.” They also said that Songs of Experience, the follow-up to Songs of Innocence, will drop in 2017. Watch the video below.
