Dej Loaf and Kodak Black have a brand new entry in the canon of Christmas songs that aren’t too aggressively Christmasy with “All I Want for Christmas,” a slow-jam duet released today. Despite the title, it isn’t a cover of Mariah Carey’s all-time classic, but it does share that song’s lovey-dovey sentiment. Over sleigh bells and gentle keys, Dej adopts her “Try Me” flow, rapping about wrapping gifts instead of catching bodies: “My past ain’t like my present / Mama, come downstairs, open up your presents / Working all them hours, trying to make it special / I was ungrateful, I ain’t know no better.” It’s very sweet, and you can listen below.
