Lie Perfectly Still and Stream William Tyler’s Beautiful ‘Modern Country’ Right Now

Won't you stay awhile?

Happy news if you enjoy William Tyler’s elegiac, meditative approach to folk music: his new album, Modern Country, is streaming today. The follow-up to 2013’s Impossible Truth features assists from Wilco drummer Glenn Kotche and Phil Cook of Guitarheels and Megafaun. Single “Gone Clear” was good on its own, but the full album is an equally rich and luminous ride; opener “Highway Anxiety” might be the most relaxing nine minutes of your week.

Modern Country is out June 3 from Merge and it’s well-worth your time. Stream it right here via NPR and check out the album trailer below.
