Father John Misty was on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert earlier this month, and the I Love You, Honeybear artist intended to cap off his appearance with a new song written for a skit that was ultimately cut for time. Perhaps that’s for the best, because the lyrics of “Maybe, Sweet One, You Won’t Have Nightmares Tonight” list utterly unhinged bad dream possibilities over increasingly demonic music. It is, quite frankly, too spooky to listen to before bed. Stream it now, while the sun’s still up, if you dare.
