Saje Explore Deeper Waters on ‘Freefallin’ Dreams’

The song is the title track from the Parisian duo's debut EP

Over the past year, Parisian dance floor-oriented R&B duo Saje have low-key amassing millions of Soundcloud plays — thanks largely to having fans in Pacific Northwest “beatsy” scenesters ODESZA — on tracks immersed in smooth, downtempo waters of limpid synths and their own lightly romantic vocals. On their new single, “Freefallin’ Dreams,” the title track of Saje’s upcoming debut EP (out January 15 via French Touch-informed label Roche Musique) they’re diving in. Over scattered, pulsating drums and glossy electric guitars, lush melodies and ambient falsetto fill the foreground, accented by sample sounds of running water and glistening chimes — bringing a whole new meaning to the term “drop.” Listen here.
