Dev Hynes has just released a new song as Blood Orange called “Sandra’s Smile,” a track he teased on Instagram a few days ago. It’s a smooth, emotionally walloping slice of R&B with a whole burst of passion behind every turn. “Who taught you to breathe? / Then took away your speech,” Hynes sings as his voice pulls the verses’ syllables out, breathing life into each word as he pays tribute to Sandra Bland.
