The artist formerly known as Beth Jeans Houghton (now Du Blonde) has a breathtaking new ballad called “The Hunter,” which is taken from her forthcoming record, Welcome Back to Milk. Accompanied by piano chords and winding guitar solos, the slow-burning “Hunter” is a noticeably more vulnerable-sounding cut and highlights Houghton’s strong, trilling vocals.
Commenting on her new single in a press release, Houghton says: “It was one of those songs that just kind of pours out; it wasn’t hard to write. I was listening to a lot of Aretha Franklin and Janis Joplin at the time, and I was really into their way of putting a lot of honesty and emotion into their songs.”
