Jenny Hval has revealed a new cut from her forthcoming follow-up to 2013’s Innocence is Kinky and 2014’s Meshes of Voice, her collaborative LP with Susanna. Titled “Sabbath,” the track opens curiously with the Norwegian singer confessing, “I’m six or seven / and dreaming that I am a boy” before launching into a half-sung, half-spoken narrative backed by droning synths and a slow, steady drum beat.
