Pearl and the Beard Pledge Their Devotion to ‘You’ on Fuzzy New Single

The Brooklyn-based trio get sweet on the song from their upcoming 'Beast' LP

Brooklyn trio Pearl and the Beard have hefty expectations for their upcoming album, with press materials declaring 2015 to be “the year of Beast,” saying the LP will turn your fandom into “full-blown obsession.” Big talk, but first single “You” goes a long way towards backing it up. The track matches rattling Interpol guitars and bass with cascading National drums and tender Neko Case vocals, all given a fuzz-rock coating, and tied together with heartwarming lyrics (“C’mon, get it through your skull / That I want you and all of your flaws”) and a sugary-sweet “Oooh, it’s you” chorus. (Crap, Valentine’s Day is already barely a month away, isn’t it?)
