Kanye’s Twitter Rampage, the Kills Announce Tour

  • Kanye West reprised his infamous Taylor Swift incident last week by Tweeting at Britney Spears that his single “H.A.M” with Jay-Z was better than Spears’ new “Hold It Against Me.” Now the rapper has gone on a Twitter rampage, explaining that he intended the Tweets as a joke after news outlets reported he was trying to start a Twitter war with the pop star. “When I said the comment about Brittney [sic] I was giving her props for being #1 not dissing her at all!” he posted.

  • The Kills will hit the road for a North American tour this Spring in support of their new album Blood Pressures, out April 5. The trek will kick off on April 15 in San Diego and wrap on May 11 in San Francisco; Cold Cave, the Entrance Band, and Foals will open on select dates. [The Kills’ Official Site]

  • Eighties icon Kate Bush is working on new music set for release sometime this year. Reports surfaced last week that Bush was writing a proper album, but her spokesperson clarified to the NME that she may not release the new material as a proper LP. [NME]

  • Queens of the Stone Age‘s Troy Van Leeuwen says the band’s next album may be rooted in the blues. “We all love the blues, and we all love to boogie,” he said. “On the other side, there might be some new scenes. It’s really early in the process and it’s not too defined what it is, but we’re all feeling really great about it and there’s no shortage of ideas.” [FasterLouder]

  • Legendary producer and Chic frontman Nile Rodgers has revealed he has “aggressive cancer” and has undergone “radical surgery” to fight the disease. In a post titled “Walking on Planet C” on his site, Rodgers wrote, “[I’m doing] everything in my power to heal and try and put cancer behind me.” [Nile Rodgers’ Official Site]

  • Wavves has released another new song titled “Mutant,” which you can hear here. The track will appear as a bonus cut to the Japanese version of his latest album King of the Beach.
