Each stateside summer music festival has its own distinct atmosphere: Lollapalooza’s bustling Chicago cityscape; Coachella’s desert backdrop; and Bonnaroo’s southern farmlands to name a few. And when snapshots from the latest addition to the circuit, Michigan’s Rothbury Festival, arrived to Spin HQ, we staffers uttered ooohhhs and aaahhhhs at all the environmentally conscious fest had to offer — and we’re not just talking about a killer bill featuring the likes of Modest Mouse, Snoop Dogg, Secret Machines, and Iron and Wine.
Check out snapshots from the forested festival grounds — which includes a swimming hole! — plus photos of the many performing bands that descended on the Double JJ Ranch outside Rothbury, Michigan over the Fourth of July weekend.
