More Hot Pursuit Acts Enter Quarterfinals!

The Hot Pursuit, Spin magazine and Music Nation’s online challenge in search of the next breakout rock act, has pushed two more bands into the quarterfinals! And the week seven winners are Chicago-based rockers Victorian Halls, whose songs judge and alt-rock statesman Perry Farrell says contain a “high strung theatrical sound,” and Phoenix, AZ’s piano-driven balladeers Raining & OK. Both now move forward to join other victorious acts such as Tofer Brown and Lake Effekt in the quarter-finals, slated to kick off Nov. 26 following next week’s (week 8) picks. Check out this week’s winners’ tunes below, as well as those from other popular contestants — Dallas, TX’s alt-rockers Red Monroe and axe-wielding metal-heads Scopelock from Lapeer, MI — and then head over to spin.musicnation.com and enter to win, or just browse the thousands of bands and help us pick the winners!
