Spin’s Hot Pursuit Picks Week Five Winners

Acts from SoCal and Colorado advance, and there's still time to enter Spin's search for the next great indie band.

The Hot Pursuit, Spin magazine and Music Nation’s online challenge in search of the next breakout rock act, has pushed two more bands into the next round. And this week’s winners are Venice, CA-based singer/songwriter Ainjel Emme, who judge and alt-rock statesman Perry Farrell says is “rich in character,” and Boulder, CO’s assorted modern rock quartet Some Random Band, both now moving forward to join other victorious acts such as the Soldier Thread and the G Clef.

Check out this week’s winners’ tunes below, as well as those from other popular contestants — Winchester, VA’s emo quintet Parade the Day and countrified indie rockers the Emilia Band from Bel Air, MD — and then head over to spin.musicnation.com and enter to win, or just browse the thousands of bands and help us pick the winners!
