Tour Update: Rilo Kiley

Since the release of 2004’s buzz-amassing LP More Adventurous, Rilo Kiley principals, the former child actors-cum-indie rockers Jenny Lewis and Blake Sennett, have busied themselves with numerous projects, including “Pioneer Woman” Lewis’ solo work and collaborations with Dntel and Postal Service, as well as Sennett’s work with side project the Elected. But now, the band has coalesced for Under the Black Light, out Aug. 21 via Warner Bros., and a supporting tour.

The freshly announced outing will start Sept. 6 in San Francisco, then lead Lewis, Sennett, bassist Pierre de Reeder, and drummer Jason Boesel through West Coast cities like Portland and Seattle before heading inland, stopping in Denver, Omaha, and Chicago en route to the East Coast. Following gigs in Boston, New York, and Philadelphia, Rilo Kiley will descend the coast, hitting Asheville, Atlanta, and Orlando, among others, along the way. Finally, a jaunt through the southwest and a few home state appearances will cap the tour.
