Tour Updates: Ben Gibbard, Sean Lennon

Ben Gibbard, frontman of indie rock heavyweights Death Cab for Cutie, has announced a 16-date solo tour with Johnathan Rice and Pedro the Lion’s David Bazan, Pitchfork reports. The outing will kick off May 3 at Minneapolis’ First Avenue venue, then head east with stops in New York City, Philadelphia, and Washington D.C. Next, the strumming threesome will descend the East Coast, log a few gigs in the southwest, and wrap with a jaunt up the West Coast.

In additional tour news, Sean Lennon, son of John Lennon and Yoko Ono, has announced a 21-date U.S. outing behind his 2006 release Friendly Fire, set to kick off March 30 in Dallas, TX. From there, Lennon will embark on a counter clockwise tour of the U.S. leading through the south, up the East Coast, and west across America’s midsection. The tour will conclude at San Francisco’s Great American Music Hall on April 29.
