New Radiohead Tunes to Debut on Web

Thanks to super-producer Nigel Godrich and his new program From The Basement, we will all soon get our fix of new Radiohead tunes. Godrich, producer to such acts as Beck, Pavement, R.E.M., and a longtime studio partner of Radiohead, announced plans to have his own music television show back in September. The program, filmed in London and in High Definition, will be made available for download Dec. 18 from fromthebasement.tv and from the iTunes store. There is no word yet on when it may appear on TV either in the U.K. or Stateside. The premiere episode will feature a solo piano performance by Thom Yorke of two tunes, “Videotape” and “Down Is The New Up,” both from Radiohead’s forthcoming album. Also appearing on the first episode will be the White Stripes and a collaborative performance by Kieran Hebden of Four Tet and drummer Steve Reid. The second episode will reportedly host Beck and Jamie Lidell. Don’t hop that next flight to London though, as there is no studio audience for From The Basement.
