Oakland, CA’s Communique — guitarist/songwriter Rory Henderson, bassist John Peck, guitarist Ryan Massey, drummer Jamie Kissinger, and keyboardist Steve Loewinsohn – recently dropped their self-produced EP, Walk Into the Light, the follow-up to 2004’s Poison Arrows, and you can download that release’s dark, dancehall-worthy “The Sad Valentine.” If you like what you hear as much as we do, you’ll be happy to learn the quintet are currently holed up in their hometown’s Sharkbite Studio recording a new full-length, tentatively slated for spring 2007 release, a source close to the band confirmed to SPIN.com.
